NVIDIA Shield accessories: Carrying case and custom lids

NVIDIA Shield case

NVIDIA has a couple of kick-ass accessories to keep your Shield safe and looking unique

We know where and when you can finally get your hands on an NVIDIA Shield, but once you get it you'll probably be interested in some of the official accessories for the device. At the time of launch, NVIDIA is making both a carrying case and removable custom lids for the Shield available. The carrying case will retail for $ 39.99 and is a hard-sided zippered affair that will keep the Shield nice and protected while you're not using it. The back is designed to let you charge it while completely closed in the case — a nice touch.

For the device itself, you can buy replaceable custom lids that adorn the back of the screen at $ 19.99. There will be several different colors and patterns available, with surely more to come. The stock lid is a brushed silver color, which matches the plastic insets on other parts of the device. Stick around after the break for a few more pictures of the case and a nice animation of how the custom lids are removed and replaced on the back of the Shield.

Samsung announces full list of Galaxy S4 accessories and pricing

Galaxy S4 Hard Case

Planning on buying a Galaxy S4 but wonder what you’re going to have to spend to own all those fancy accessories? Well Samsung has finally announced the full pricing details for the official accessories, and there are also a few additions to the already busy line-up unveiled at the time of the Galaxy S4’s announcement.

Prices vary from $ 29.99 to $ 99.99 for products ranging from phone covers to gaming accessories, we have the full price list below.

Covers & Cases

The standard flip cover comes in a wide variety of colours, including Black Mist, White Frost, Light Blue, Pink, Green, Orange, and Yellow, which will set you back a fairly significant $ 39.99.

If you want to try something a little different, the S View Cover allows you access a small part of the screen through a small window in the cover. Users can view the date and time, battery life, read text messages, and answer or reject calls whilst keeping the cover closed. The Auto Wake-Up function also activates upon opening the cover, eliminating the need to unlock the screen manually.

Galaxy S4 S View Cover

The S View Cover comes in a choice of Black Mist or White Frost, and costs a little dearer at $ 59.99.

Finally, the Protective Cover+ is designed to protect your handset from the inevitable accidents. It’s the cheapest cover, costing just $ 29.99, and again comes in a variety of colers, including White, Navy, Green, Blue and Pink.

Battery & Charging

Samsung is also selling a spare battery charging system for $ 49.99. The pack comes with a spare 2600mAh battery, a battery charging stand, and a wall charger.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is also compatible with Samsung’s 9000mAh universal battery pack. Being a battery, this pack is fully compatible with the Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Tab 2, as well as other devices like the Nexus 10. A significantly longer lasting battery can be all yours for $ 79.99.

Docking Stations

Those of you familiar with Samsung’s universal accessories might have come across its Smart Dock before. The aim is to turn your smartphone into a small desktop computer, by adding in support for larger screen monitors, a keyboard and mouse, and connectivity to external audio devices.

samsung-smart-dock-01The dock comes equipped with three USB inputs for enhanced connectivity, an HDMI output to connect to a larger display, and a 3.5mm output jack for stereo speakers. At $ 99.99 is a reasonable price to pay to adds tons of extra functionality to your Galaxy S4.

Alternatively you could opt for the Universal Multimedia Desktop Dock instead, a compact dock which folds flat for portability. The dock connects via micro USB and can charge your handset as well as play music through an external speaker thanks to the 3.5mm audio output. It’s cheaper than the Smart Dock, but you do lose the USB and HDMI connections. On the plus side, it will only cost you half the price, at only $ 49.99. The dock is also compatible with the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Rugby Pro, Galaxy Victory 4G, Galaxy Express, and probably quite a few others.

And the rest

Samsung also has a range of other products to fill some of your more niche needs, all of which are compatible with its new Galaxy S4 handset.

AllShare Cast Wireless Hub

This is a pretty impressive device that allows you to wirelessly share content with any nearby HDTV or HDMI display.

samsung wireless hubJust plug the wireless hub into the HDMI port of any display to share music, picture, or video content over your home network to your large screen. The Wireless Hub will set you back $ 99.99, but will work with a number of other smartphones and tablets as well.

Universal Vehicle Navigation Mount

This is just a universal product, but will easily fit the Galaxy S4. The grip works with most smartphones with screens sized between 4 and 5.5 inches. It has a full 360 degree rotation capability, but at $ 49.99 it’s quite an expensive solution to propping up your handset whilst driving.

MHL 2.0 HDTV Adapter

This elegant $ 39.99 cable allows you to connect the Micro USB port from your Galaxy S4 to an HDMI display, in order to effortlessly show off and share pictures and video in your living room. It’s a much cheaper alternative to the Wireless Hub and again this device is compatible with a variety of other products, including the popular Galasy S3, and Note 2.

HS-330 Headphones

Samsung’s $ 29.99 HS-330 headphones comes with two speakers in each ear, a separate woofer for low end and a tweeter for high frequencies, which should result in a flatter frequency range and an improved listening experience. The headphones have a mini remote for adjusting volume and skipping through tracks, and are again compatible with the Galaxy S3 and Note 2.

HM3300 Bluetooth Headset

The HM3300 is a universal Bluetooth headset, which supports NFC for easier device coupling. For $ 49.99 it features HD voice, audio streaming, and voice prompts in six different languages. You’ll also have your pick of colours, including Titan Gray, Marble White, and Pebble Blue.

Galaxy Muse

The final product in the line-up is the Galaxy Muse portable music player, which is specifically designed to complement the Galaxy series of smartphones.

samsung galaxy museThe portable music player syncs music directly from your Galaxy S4, Note 2, and other Samsung devices, a convenience that can be purchased for $ 49.99.

It’s great that all the accessories, appart from the cosmetic ones, are compatable with a wide variety of existing Samsung devices. If you already own any of the above, or want one to go with one of your existing Samsung products and your new Galaxy S4, you won’t have any problems with compatability.

If that’s not enough to sink your teeth into, remember that the Gaming Pad is rumoured to cost around $ 99.99 at launch, and there’s also the health orientated heart rate monitor and body scale to accompany this already hefty list of accessories.

Samsung Galaxy S4 accessories: Flip Covers, protective case and spare battery ‘system’ announced

S-View Flip Cover

Samsung knows you like Galaxy S4 accessories, announces a few more

If there is one thing smart phone enthusiasts like more than a new phone, it's accessories to go along with it. Samsung knows this, too, and has announced a few of the official Galaxy S4 accessories this morning. While it's not the complete list of things we saw leaked last month, a couple of the favorites should be available soon — hopefully along side the device itself.

First up is the Flip Cover we all know and love, but redesigned to fit the S4 perfectly. Available in seven colors (Black Mist, White Frost, Light Blue, Pink, Green, Orange and Yellow), the Flip Cover will retail for $ 39.99. A new take on the Flip Cover is the new S View design (pictured above) which has a clear cover so users can see information like SMS messages or the current time. It's available in Black Mist or White Frost for $ 59.99, and it looks like a new software mode will work in conjunction with the cover to put the information you need front and center of the window itself. Samsung will also offer what they're calling the Protective Cover+. It looks like a high quality protective case, and comes in White, Navy, Green, Blue and Pink. It will retail for $ 29.99.

Beside the cases and covers, Samsung announced a Spare Battery Charging System. Checking in at $ 49.99, it consists of charging stand, a wall charger, and a spare 2,600 mAh battery. This sounds like a very good price for the dock and the extra battery, and is sure to be a popular seller.

Of course, plenty of the existing Galaxy S accessories will work just fine with the S4. Besides the obvious like headphones and wireless media devices, the Smart Dock and Universal Multimedia Desktop Dock will work for various Galaxy S devices, including the S4. See the full fact sheet after the break.

Google Play lists new Nexus 4 accessories up for sale

Google Nexus 4 earphones
Looking for a relatively inexpensive and easy way to accessorize your Google Nexus 4? You’re in luck, because Google has just put a few new Nexus 4 accessories up for sale on Google Play. These accessories are a headset, a USB cable, and a small Nexus 4 power adapter.

The new Nexus 4 accessories that can now be purchased through Google Play look to be your average smartphone accessories. At least from the outside, none of them really look that remarkable, though the use of flat cords on both the USB cable and the headset is a bit noteworthy.

And speaking of noteworthy, the new Nexus 4 headset comes with rubber earpieces as well as a built-in mic. So this headset is clearly meant to be used not just for listening to the phone’s audio but also for regular phone calls as well.

The Nexus 4 headset can be purchased directly from Google Play for only $ 19.99 plus $ 5.99 for 2-day shipping. Meanwhile, the USB cable costs $ 9.99 and the power adapter costs $ 15.99.

Headphones with line mic, charger and microUSB cable now available separately

Google has launched three new accessories for the Nexus 4 through the Google Play devices store. Well — of the three, only one is really new — the wired headset with line mic — but it doesn't hurt that the official charger and microUSB cable are now available alongside it.  The charger and cable are exactly like what you'll find boxed up with your Nexus 4, while the headset is a new addition, consisting of earphones and a flattened cable containing a mic for calls.

A quick breakdown of pricing in the U.S., U.K and eurozone –

The Nexus 4 bumper is also still available, priced $ 19.99, £15.99 or €19.99

Carphone Warehouse Samsung Galaxy S4 pre-order comes with free accessories, Galaxy Tab 2 tablet

Samsung Galaxy S4 3 aa 600

Good news for those in the UK waiting to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S4: March 28 is the date Carphone Warehouse starts the pre-order process for it.

But wait, it gets better. Even if Carphone Warehouse is not the first UK retailer to take pre-orders for the smartphone, getting it from them can hook you up with some very nice bonuses.

First of all, the first 2000 customers to pre-order the Galaxy S4 will receive a free 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (which is said to get update to Android 4.2.2 this year), bundled with the smartphone. But even if you’re not among the first 2000, there’s still a bonus for you: all of the Samsung Galaxy S4 devices pre-ordered come bundled with an accessory pack.

Said Samsung Galaxy S4 accessories pack includes an in-car charger, a screen protector and Galaxy S4 case and it’s worth £64.97. The retailer has also announced that its stores would extend opening hours when the smartphone is released.

If you live in the UK, will you pre-order your S4 with this offer?

Carphone Warehouse taking Galaxy S4 pre-orders tomorrow, offering free accessories and tablet

Galaxy S4

UK high street retailer Carphone Warehouse has announced that it's to begin taking Samsung Galaxy S4 pre-orders from tomorrow, Mar. 28. And to sweeten the deal — and get a commitment to buy out of consumers a month ahead of launch day — Carphone is offering free accessory bundle for every pre-order, and a free Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for the first 2,000.

The accessory pack includes a Galaxy S4 screen protector, case and car charger, which the retailer says is valued at £64.97. The tablet isn't exactly cutting-edge, but still sells online for upwards of £150, and has recently got its update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Carphone Warehouse, like other UK retailers, is expecting to stock the Galaxy S4 from Apr. 26. Hit up Carphone's Galaxy S4 landing page tomorrow to take advantage of the pre-order offer.

GALAXY S 4 accessories pricing and release dates revealed

When Samsung took the stage that cold morning in New York City to announce their new flagship smartphone the GALAXY S 4, they had a lot more than just a phone to show us. Obviously it was all about the software and multiple S-app features, but they also have a slew of accessories coming too. Today we have what appears to be a full rundown of all the accessories, their prices, and even releases dates.

Screen-Shot-2013-03-15-at-10.57.03-AM

During the smartphone event we got a glimpse at a few of the accessories Samsung had in mind, but not everything. They lightly teased their new Gamepad, S-Band, heart rate tracker, and even the Samsung S-Scale. Yes a scale for your bathroom that will sync to their accessories and your smartphone to track progress. It was a bit overwhelming, but now we have all the details.

According to SamMobile all of this will be launched in April, with a few waiting a little longer and reaching into May for things like the wireless charging pad. Just in time for their device to hit shelves in late April across the globe. Their accessory page went live last week, and here’s the rumored pricing:

S Band – $ 129.99
S View Cover – $ 69.99
Wireless Charging Pad / Cover – $ 49.99
Flip Cover – $ 34.99
Pouch – $ 59.99
Protective Cover – $ 19.99
Headset – $ 29.99
Extra Battery Kit – $ 29.99
HRM – $ 79.99
Body Scale – $ 129.99
Game Pad – $ 99.99

For now these prices are just a rumor but they all appear somewhat reasonable, if not a little overpriced. What we do know is the GALAXY S 4 is coming in late April and early May, and we’ll be excited to try out many of these optional accessories come launch week. Are you interested in any of these, or do you just want the phone?

Samsung Galaxy S4 accessories prices and availability surface, but are not official

Galaxy S4 Flip Cover

A list of prices and availability dates for the Samsung Galaxy S4 accessories has made its way to the web.

While the accessories themselves are nothing new, the prices are most certainly interesting. Bear in mind, though, that these prices are just indicative ones. And that is because, first of all, prices are generally higher in Europe than in the U.S., and second, they are not official.

Another interesting thing is that, while Sam Mobile does quote Czech site Samsung Mania as a source, some of the prices are different when trying to convert them from Czech crowns to U.S. dollars. Also, interestingly enough, there are a few products that are only mentioned on the Czech site.

I’ll mention both prices, first the one Sam Mobile announces and then the one converted from Czech crowns to dollars, so you can get a better idea.

The S Band will reportedly cost $ 129.99 ($ 104 converted from the Czech price) although its availability is not yet known, while the S View Cover will be available in week 14 (the week starting April 1st), at a price of $ 69.99 ($ 59).

Next come the wireless charging pad and cover. Sam Mobile only mentions week 17 (the week starting on April 22nd) and a price of $ 49.99, while Samsung Mania says that the pad is coming out in the 19th week (converted price is around $ 72). The cover comes out the week starting on April 22nd, at around $ 47.

Samsung

The Body Scale, coming week 15 will cost $ 129.99 ($ 104).

From this point on, prices from the two sources are roughly the same (the difference is too small to be taken into account). The Flip Cover is said to cost $ 34.99 (week 14, starting April 1st), the Pouch is priced at $ 59.99 (week starting April 8th), while the Protective Cover+ is said to be $ 19.99, set to launch a week earlier.

The Headset and Extra Battery Kit are both priced at $ 29.99, while the HRM Belt costs $ 85. These three accessories are said to arrive in week 15 (starting April 8th). The Game Pad is coming in July, at around $ 99.99.

Samsung Mania also mentions three more products: the HDMI cable, which is priced around $ 39, coming week 14, the Universal Audio Docking Station, priced at approximately $ 119, and the Premium Audio Docking Station for $ 772.

If you’re planning on getting the Samsung Galaxy S4, what accessories will you buy to go with it?
